President and Founder, Lisa Villarreal, has successfully fused the values of yesteryear with sound manufacturing principles of today through the creation of Lily Jack. Within a relatively short period of time, Lily Jack has vaulted to an elevated position within the hospitality and residential markets. Lily Jack being recognized as a best-in-class supplier can be directly attributed to Lisa’s passion for the finest details and grand vision of delivering superior casegoods and upholstered seating with exemplary customer service.
Lisa literally grew-up in the industry! Born and raised in Los Angeles, she watched her grandfather, John S. Greenrock (Jack), develop J.S. Greene & Associates into a leading import company. In 1985, Lisa joined Jack and her Mom, Judy, in the family business. A fast and furious apprenticeship ensued. Lisa immediately began working directly with Jack and the existing J.S. Greene customers, the top furniture players throughout the country. Quickly, Lisa gained insight into the materials, structural engineering, finish applications and upholstery methods that were best suited for high-end residential settings. Most importantly, she was exposed to each manufacturer’s strengths and limitations. Lisa considered this stage in her life the foundation for something greater to come.
With Lisa leading the charge, J.S. Greene’s client base increased and sales exploded by 350% within the first few years. However, as the global economy changed in the early 1990’s, Lisa realized that the company must adapt and find alternative opportunities for growth. She recognized a need for a distinct line of furniture, dedicated mainly to the hospitality industry.
Lisa expanded J.S. Greene’s genre, recruiting local artisans from the Los Angeles area, with 3 and 4 generations of experience, and began making custom casegoods and upholstered seating. With full support from her family, Lily Jack was born in 2000, honoring her grandfather (Jack), grandmother (Lily) and their commitment to hard work and solid family values.
During Lily Jack’s infancy, Lisa pulled out her toolbox of knowledge that she obtained during her J.S. Greene days and vowed to confront the weaknesses that seemed to plague the premier furniture manufacturers throughout the country. Instead of placing emphasis on cutting corners on materials and construction techniques just to make a profit, Lisa was aggressive in her pursuit of creating timeless designs, utilizing only the finest materials, skilled craftsmanship and strict quality controls. Lisa was and still is concerned with building her reputation without sacrificing her integrity and the solid values instilled in her by Jack and Judy.
Lisa is a hands-on owner, overseeing every aspect of the company. She provides a unique perspective, an invaluable tool, considering almost 60% of Lily Jack’s products are custom manufactured using the finest of exotic woods, veneers, metal and glass. In addition to working closely with both the administrative and production teams, she makes time to collaborate with her clients on the structural integrity, proportion, scale and comfort of each and every piece. Lisa is able to translate concepts into reality, while serving both the artist and client.
When Lisa is not living, eating and breathing Lily Jack, she is a dedicated Mom of two wonderful boys, residing in Agoura Hills, CA. Lisa will be the first to admit that it is a tough balance owning a successful business and wanting to be there to teach, guide and mentor her children every step of the way. However, Lisa’s greatest satisfaction is being a Mom! She also enjoys spending long hours shopping for exquisite “treasures” with her Mom, in addition to indulging in fine wine, superb meals and world travel. Being an equestrian is also a passion and Lisa hopes to live out her dream one day, living on a horse ranch in Montana.
With an experience and breadth of knowledge that spans across a variety of disciplines and industries, Lance Reyes calls into play a highly effective blend of business acumen and forward-thinking to his role as Vice President. From his years as a Business Consultant and Project Manager for Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, LLP, through his tenure as Director of Project Administration and Logistics for Hilton Hotels Corporation, he consistently implemented solutions that far exceeded the expectations of his clients, employers and fellow team members. His formula for success melds a practical approach to problem solving and progressive vision with industry best practices.
Heavily recruited after earning his degrees in Management Information Systems and Risk Management and Insurance from Florida State University, Lance began his career with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, LLP. During his successful 6 year tenure with the industry powerhouse, Lance designed and implemented business process, organizational design and technological strategies for a variety of leading Fortune 500 companies.
One such Fortune 500 company, Hilton Hotels Corporation, noticed Lance’s high-energy and dynamic capabilities, enlisting him as the Director of Project Administration and Logistics. Lance applied his finance, project management and technological skills and Hilton quickly realized return on their investment. Within his first year alone, Lance converted his department from a cost center into a profit center. Furthermore, Lance gained a greater appreciation for the ideals of total customer satisfaction, a trait that he carried with him at his next professional destination, Lily Jack.
Initially brought into the Lily Jack family as a Business Consultant, Lance observed the company’s explosive growth. However, he noticed the company lacked certain key ingredients suitable for building a solid business infrastructure to support this growth potential. Through backing from the CEO and President, Lance incorporated a series of aggressive, proven best practices, designed to standardize and streamline Lily Jack’s business model. Within 1 year, Lily Jack showed a significant increase in sales and gross profit, without sacrificing employee and client retention.
The determination in which Lance approaches his business career translates to his personal life as well. A former competitive triathlete, Lance continues to be an avid swimmer, runner and cyclist.
Director of Sales and Marketing
A native of Los Angeles, Cassandra entered into the furniture industry in 1973. She joined Lily Jack in May of 2000 as one of their first Project Managers after developing a successful back-haul program as the West Coast Sales Representative for a trucking company in Thomasville, NC. Working side-by side with Lisa Villarreal, she enthusiastically embraced the Lily Jack vision during its infancy stage. Through natural progression, Ms. Sampson was recently promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing. Her experience in the furniture industry over the past 35 years, coupled with her passionate commitment to excellence, adds value to this customer-centric team. Establishing strong and mutually beneficial relationships with our clients, Cassandra considers every customer a “partner.” A team player, her collaborative decision-making and concise communication helps to achieve superior results and client satisfaction.
Cassandra’s passion for people translates through her life’s call as a pastor. Seeing to the basic necessities of the underprivileged and underserved, Pastor Cassandra volunteers her time towards empowering people while building community. She is a devoted mother two and has six beautiful grandchildren.
Director of Project Manager
Originally from Los Angeles, Brooke spent her high school and college years in the Midwest. After graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in photography, she began her career in retail management. A knack for customer service and design morphed into a position in fashion, then to a high-end furniture showroom. At the showroom she thrived, growing in her service skills and learning the residential wholesale business. After 5 years there, she landed at Lily Jack as a Project Coordinator. Quickly moving up to Project Manager, Brooke is enjoying learning the in’s and out’s of custom manufacturing. She is now heading up the Domestic Project Management department and looking forward to everything the future will bring.
Jennifer has been with Lily Jack since 2001 in various capacities, most recently as Purchasing Manager. She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising with a degree in Merchandise Marketing/Product Development. She credits Leonard Parker Company with her introduction to the Hospitality industry. Jennifer is deeply committed to the success and growth of Lily Jack.
Director of Finance
Andrea Johnson joined Lily Jack and the Finance Dept. in 2004, bringing with her a strong background in Real Estate and Construction Cost accounting. She is able to develop, prioritize and execute complex projects while working diplomatically and collaboratively with teams at all levels. Andrea excels under pressure.
In her personal time, Andrea is a guest symposium speaker at California State University’s English department and competes in the sport of AKC Agility at the National level with her dogs.
Senior Human Resources Manager
Andi Prestridge, Senior Human Resources Manager came to Lily Jack in 2009. She brought with her over 15 years of Human Resources and Operations experience in manufacturing and private service organizations. She is a strong Human Resources Generalist who applies her diverse knowledge to all aspects of her job. Andi earned a certificate BA with a concentration in Human Resources from UCLA as well as a Professional Certification in Human Resources (PHR). She is an active member of the local and national Human Resources Management Organizations PHIRA and SHRM.
